Elias Horry scrapbook, 1810-1815, (bulk 1814)

Scrapbook of Elias Horry contains clippings and printed copies of ordinances, City Treasurer's statements, Orphan House funds, and other printed items. Also contains handwritten notes about City Council meetings and a "Bill for the inspection, adjustment, and regulation of weights and measures" (1814). In addition includes "bills of mortality" (deaths in Charleston) and measures for the defense of the city. Poetry [not before 1815] is also included.

He was the son of Thomas Horry (1748-1820), a plantation owner and South Carolina state legislator.
